Shopping for materials

There are many things to consider when shopping for materials that will be used in a tile installation or bathroom remodel. Color and style, durability, and price are only a few. Other things to consider my be how long the install will take, and how messy and loud the work will be.

Color and Style

Some people think that there are rules to what colors and styles are used. These people believe that they must follow certain guidelines that were written by someone else. Certainly, interior designers want us to think this way. I say there is only one rule. Get what you like.

Durability

Obviously, if you spend the amount of time, effort, and money it takes to get a tile installation completed, then you want it to last. Some tiles are much more durable than others. White marble, for example, scratches and stains easier than any other type of tile. Black granite is among the most durable materials you can select.

Price

We all know that products have wide ranges when it comes to price. The expensive product is usually better than the cheap one. This is usually true with tile too. However, sometimes a price tag is related to how difficult the item is to make, or how much of that certain material is available.
